i think her song hit number two
back in the fall of 93 there weren't no-one as woe as me
i had to shoplift that CDs
and whosoever had the nerve back then
is whosoever gets the nerve again
without even trying

if she was there she'd a had me arrested
cricket got by on her wits and her wingspread
and to think that i wasn’t in love

but in the spring of ’95 working with her kept me alive
through all those customers so snide
how she suffered them with pride let perspiration be her guide
aided by some choice asides

without even trying

she was too cool to be disinterested
